Movie Review: All balled into one

La Salle Zobel

Watching the movie Dragonball Evolution was a welcome respite from the rigors of basketball training in La Salle Zobel, which started a couple of weeks ago, a mere three days after my last final exams. I was so excited to see it because Dragonball happens to be my favorite game in PSP. So, I know its principal character Goku and his signature move, kamehameha and of course, his nemesis the evil man Lord Piccolo.

To those who don’t know him yet, Goku is an 18-year-old high school student considered to be an outcast in his school. He often deals with bullies. Great thing, he is an extremely talented Martial Arts fighter because of the training that he got from his grandpa. It was only on his birthday that he found out that he has to save earth from the evil hands of Lord Piccolo. He and his friends need to get dragonballs to stop him.

Although the movie is not in the league of Spiderman, Lord of the Rings and Batman, kids my age or those younger will surely enjoy this movie because of the fight scenes and the visual effects. There are even comic scenes that will make you laugh. Still, I noticed that my mom and dad also enjoyed the movie. They actually liked it. So maybe it’s not just for kids like me but also for grown-ups. Watching it is a great bonding experience for the whole family.

And hey, watch out for the twist in the end. Something tells me, there will be a sequel!

Points that I love

– awesome fight scenes especially when he beat those bullies and his final showdown with Lord Piccolo!
– visual effects
– the antics of Master Rosi. He is not the typical master of martial arts and I find him funny
